I think that the CCT survellience will benifits us as if a crime occurs and there is no one saw what happen. The CCT survellience will record down what happen and it will be use as a evidence. The CCT survellience could also lower the crime rate as it will let the thiefs and robber know that their action will be recorded down adn they will not be let off so easily as there is evidence supported by the CCT survellience. I think that Singapore could consider to build on more CCT survellience as it would help the country to lower down crime rates and i think building the CCT survellience would not cost much.

I agree that the CCTV camera will benefit us greatly, but many people think that the cause of these camera are not costly, which is not the case.
ReplyDeleteA basic CCTV with visual and sound recording, the cost can easily be between S$900 to S$45,000. An average 4 camera system with a recording device could easily set you back on average S$2,400 to S$3,000 (without installation). Then a 16 camera system or more could cost you from S$6000 up to the S$45,000 mark and maybe even past that amount.
If you were to installed 16 CCTC camera on orchard road, you can barely cover a full road, but only a small area.
While the Paris metro and rail networks already operate around 9,500 CCTV camera, police have only 330 at their disposal to survey outside public areas. The new plan, "A Thousand Cameras for Paris", will raise that number to more than 1,200 – with most installed in high-risk areas and outside railway and underground stations.
The figure is still small compared with London, where each citizen is caught on average several hundred times a day. Britain has about four million closed-circuit security cameras compared with France's 340,000, not including wide area cameras.
If you do your maths, it may end up to around £1,000,000,000 or S$3,000,000,000!!!
