One of the advantages of video surveillance is to claim peace to the area because there will be less crime occurring in that area. Having a set of 
eyes on an emergency scene prior to your arrival is an advantage. The valuable information 
they provide from the camera network can ultimately mean the difference 
between life and death. Individuals are less likely to commit a crime if they suspect that they are being monitored. Several conditions do have to be met though in order for a surveillance system to be a successful crime deterrent. Cameras have to be visible to the perpetrator and cameras have to be routinely monitored so that any suspicions activity is immediately dealt with. As a result, some criminals know that cameras are in operation and they decide not to commit crimes in that particular place. But, most criminals act without thinking, and so nothing, neither cop nor camera, is going to deter these thoughtless brutes from breaking the law. After serious terrorist attacks in the recent past, more and more policymakers as well as security and intelligence services are turning towards video surveillance technology as the solution to terrorist threats and the need to improve public security.
