I am Timothy Tan studying at Maris Stella High School and am currently in 2 Francis this year. In time of threat and crisis, I would defend my country, family and friends. These are without doubt my top priorities. I will not hesitate to defend my country because it is my homeland as it has provided me with opportunities to learn and to grow and succeed in life. It is the place where I grew up. It holds lots of good and unforgettable memories. I always feel in safe in Singapore, therefore I must ensure that Singapore is being defended in times of threat and crisis. I want my children to also feel safe in Singapore.
Next I would defend my family, as they are like the pillars of life supporting me from my childhood to my teenage life. They cared for me, provided me with food, a home, education and love to help me grow into strong and healthy person. My family is there for me in good times and in bad time, they keep me focus whenever I lose sight of my goals. At the end of the day, I know I can depend on my family to stand by me when I need them.
Lastly I would defend my friends as they been there for me through thick and thin. They are the ones who stood by my side and showed care and concern whenever I was feeling down. My relationship with my friends strengthens each day and I hope that this amazing bond will keep getting stronger through the years.
