Joey Choa (7) 2nd entry, comment on Hendrik's entry
I do not agree with Hendrik that the installation of CCT surveillance will intrude into people's privacy as these CCT surveillance are installed in public places such as in the shopping malls and by the roadside. Since, the CCT surveillance are installed at such places, I do not see how it would intrude into people's privacy. First of all, I do not think that people will do private matters in the eyes of the public. Second of all, the purpose for the installation of the CCT surveillance is to help the authorities apprehend the criminals and to enable them to keep a watchful eye over the things that are happening. I would also think that the authorities would not bother much over people's actions if it is not wrong under the eyes of the law. I would think that the chances of the authorities intruding into people's privacy will be rather low as the chances of them being corrupted should be rather low. I would think that to them their utmost duty will to ensure the safety of our country.
